Since that review quite a bit at Directspace has changed they added a new bandwidth carrier, change there portal software and fixed a nagging issue I have been having since day one.

I was having a issue where the download speeds I was getting from my server would just hit a brick wall. They would be fine one day and then the next would be crawling to around 100 Kb/s. I always figured it was just a cogent issue, but after HE was installed I didn’t really notice any difference so I got Edward working on. He noticed that there was something funny going on with the ethernet cable so he swapped it out with a new one. Since then I have never had the download speed from my server go below 500 Kb/s, and most of the time it will max my connection at 1.2 Mb/s.

Customer Portal: 5/10 – They switched to WHMCS which is so much better then what they were using before, but they are still lacking some basic features like bandwidth graphs, and remote reboot.

Support: 9/10 – It’s hard to find better support, everyone there knows what they are doing and they get issues resoled fast. There only problem is sometimes they can be kind of hard to get ahold of.

Network: 8/10 – It’s not going to win any awards, but its so much better then it was before. Since HE was added there has been no down time, it’s pretty damn fast especially for going across the country (Portland, OR to Palm Beach, FL)

Overall: 8/10 – Overall Directspace is a solid host, they don’t have the newest hardware or the fancy portal like softlayer but its really hard to beat what you do get. A ton of bandwidth, good hardware, excellent support, at a great price.

I can safely recommend them to anyone for just about any type of hosting need as long as its not something "mission critical" they have a little ways to go before I can recommend directspace for something along those lines.
